Diplomat & Governance Communication Expert - Member of the Steering Committee
Ambassador Sylvia Naa Adaawa Annoh is a distinguished Ghanaian diplomat, public servant, and communications expert, currently serving as Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark and Sweden, appointed in 2021 by H.E. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
At AFDEG 2026, Ambassador Annoh will serve as Chair of the Citizen Participation & Inclusion Track, leading discussions on how digital governance can empower citizens, strengthen accountability, and enhance democratic inclusion across the continent. Her leadership of this track reflects her lifelong commitment to civic engagement, electoral transparency, and inclusive governance.
Prior to her diplomatic role, she served as a Commission Member of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) from 2017 to 2021, where she worked to deepen public understanding of democratic rights and responsibilities. For over two decades, she was the Spokesperson and Head of Public Affairs at Ghana’s Electoral Commission, where she played a key role in voter education and public communication.
An accredited member of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), Ghana, Ambassador Annoh has trained numerous journalists in accurate and ethical election reporting. She has also participated in a wide range of international courses in election management, public administration, gender advocacy, and strategic communication.
She is a graduate of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), and holds a postgraduate certificate and diploma in Public Administration, as well as a master’s degree in governance and leadership from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
Ambassador Annoh is a Christian, married, and the mother of three adult children.
