A strategic leader with over 20 years of experience driving large-scale digital transformations across the UK public and private sectors. Holding a doctorate in Large Infrastructure Management and Governance and a master’s degree in Personal, Mobile, and Information Technology from the University of Bradford, Dr. Njoku has successfully led national initiatives, including the UK Food Standards Agency’s digital reform – reducing food poisoning cases by 100,000 annually – and a government-wide workforce sustainability programme for the NHS. His professional contributions span institutions such as Provident Financial Group, Shepherd Engineering Group, Wythenshawe Housing Association, NHS Digital, and the National Institute for Healthcare Research.
Dr. Njoku also has strong roots in Africa, having founded a digital literacy initiative in Nigeria to empower youth from disadvantaged backgrounds and mentored start-ups across multiple sectors. His expertise in governance structures, risk management, and digital innovation will guide AFDEG’s strategic focus on digital economy transformation.
Within AFDEG, Dr. Njoku will serve as Chair of Track 6: Digital Economy, Infrastructure & Innovation, responsible for shaping the agenda on how Africa can leverage digital technologies to drive inclusive economic growth, foster local innovation ecosystems, and strengthen infrastructure resilience. He will also contribute to AFDEG’s consultancy and policy toolkit development, embedding best practices in digital transformation governance across Africa.
