Mr. George Willoughby Twumasi is a visionary African media executive and social entrepreneur with over three decades of leadership in transforming Africa’s media and broadcasting landscape. He currently serves as Chair of the Digital Broadcasting & Media for Governance Track for the African Forum on Digital Economy and Governance (AFDEG), where he brings deep expertise in using media as a tool for democratic engagement, cultural identity, and inclusive development.
Based in London, George is also the founding CEO of ABN Holdings Ltd (ABN), a company dedicated to building a pan-African public service broadcasting and digital television network that empowers African voices. His strategic work spans 20 Anglophone African markets, where he has developed robust commercial and governance models to support a sustainable TMT (telecommunications, media, and technology) ecosystem.
George has cultivated influential partnerships with organisations such as the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Informa Telecoms and Media, IHS Markit, Analysys Mason, and Rapid Blue. Through ABN’s partnership with the African Public Broadcasting Foundation (APBF), he is leading the development of a scalable, globally relevant content production and distribution infrastructure that prioritizes African storytelling.
