Chair, AFDEG Academic Council - Member of the Steering Committee
Professor Al-Ansari is a distinguished academic leader and international education strategist with more than two decades of experience in higher education and transnational partnerships. He holds a PhD in University Social Responsibility and Transnational Education (TNE) from Leeds Beckett University, and he currently serves as Dean of Circle International and Professor at Vitez University. He is also an Honorary Research Fellow at UCL’s Global Business School for Health and Director of the Transnational Education and Students’ Mobility Centre in the UK.
Professor Al-Ansari has played a pioneering role in advancing transnational education (TNE), university social responsibility, and global academic collaboration. His leadership at Circle International has expanded postgraduate and doctoral programs globally, while supporting early-career researchers and fostering impactful international research networks. Beyond academia, he has advised diplomatic missions on education and international collaboration, reflecting his unique ability to link scholarship with diplomacy and policy.
As a Steering Committee Member of AFDEG, Professor Al-Ansari will play a pivotal role in shaping the Forum’s academic and research dimensions, ensuring rigorous scholarship underpins all tracks. He will also co-lead international coordination with the British Council, Ghana Scholarly Society, Business and Financial Times, and other partners in organizing AFDEG 2026. Additionally, he will chair the Academic Council, overseeing AFDEG’s research agenda, knowledge outputs, and scholarly engagement across Africa and globally. His involvement ensures AFDEG’s intellectual contributions are both globally recognized and deeply rooted in Africa’s governance and education priorities.
